To start myself off I need a good bulk of drawings to work with before starting to incorporate print, bits of stitch and I would like to work with the laser cutter too within this project. I plan on taking all these processes into CAD and manipulating my work further through photoshop (well thats the plan!) so I need to keep the drawings coming at the moment untill I feel I have enough to work with to then take through to developmental processes/ steps to create eye catching repeats! Below are a few scanned in images of my drawings from my on going sketch book. I like to experiment with different drawing techniques to create many mark makings and abstract images to support my title of Decorative Butterfly Forms which wont nessessarily reflect the typical butterfly shape but focusing more on the patterns and detail within.
Here I have used a dip pen, ink, bleach and water and layered the drawing twice over and cutting out areas
Above I have used procien dyes for bright flashes of colour with fine linears and ink to create more detail and blending with water and again bleach for highlighted areas.
This is a simple linear drawing and filled with watercolour paints
I may not go onto using each full drawing or eveyone one I do but take certain shapes and areas through to development.
